Learn about the chat interface and features in MultitaskAI

split screen chat

MultitaskAI offers a powerful and intuitive chat interface that you may recognize from other providers, but here you’ll find enhanced features designed to streamline conversations and optimize your workflow. By leveraging queued messages, background completions, and conversation forking, you can tackle multiple tasks with greater efficiency.

Sending Messages While Awaiting Responses

One standout feature of MultitaskAI is the ability to queue messages while the AI model is still generating a response. This means you can plan ahead, type your next prompt, and send it before the current response finishes.

How to Queue Messages:

  1. While the AI is generating a response, type your next message in the input field.
  2. Click Send or press Enter.
  3. Your message will be queued and sent automatically once the current response is complete.

By using message queueing, you can eliminate idle waiting times and maintain a steady conversation flow.

Stopping the AI Response Stream

Sometimes you may want to stop an AI response partway through, particularly if the content is off-topic or you already have the answer you need.

  • To stop the AI's response:
Click the Stop button that appears while the AI is generating a response. This ensures you can cut off the stream at will and avoid unnecessary information or token usage.

Additional Features

MultitaskAI goes beyond basic chat functionalities, offering tools that let you manage multiple conversations and experiment with parallel ideas:

  • Background Completions: Continue to your next chat while existing conversations complete their responses in the background, allowing you to juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Forking Conversations: Start a new chat or open a split-screen view to explore different directions in the conversation simultaneously.
  • Message Queueing: Queue up multiple messages; they will be sent in a controlled sequence once the current responses are finished.

Dragging in Files

You can drag any file directly onto the chat interface, and MultitaskAI will automatically parse and add it to the database with the extracted content. Images are usually processed with OCR to capture any text. However, when you are using a vision-enabled model, images are sent for vision-based processing, allowing the AI to analyze the visual content directly.

Tips for Effective Chatting

To get the most out of your MultitaskAI experience, consider these strategies:

  • Plan Ahead
Think of questions or instructions you want to send ahead of time, and queue them up to save effort.
  • Manage Conversations
Use the stop function to keep chats on track and prevent the AI from veering into unrelated topics.
  • Explore Alternatives
Fork conversations to compare different AI responses side by side, helping you decide which approach or solution is best.
